It's Time To Cycle Out of Conformity And Move Into Authenticity
Namaste, Y'all,
And welcome to another blog entry by yours truly. This week I'd like to address the topic of another triggering topic involving unconscious projecting. It's something we all do with the best of intentions, and yet it can mess us up and our subject (the person on the receiving end). It dawned on me after holding a session with a client the other day just how much of my life (and I'm certain yours) has been spent wasting prime energy and resources trying to get others to see what they can not. How many times have you encountered someone with a crazy talent or skill they feel is not up to par, yet you go into hype drive trying to convince them otherwise? You bombard them with contacts, statistics, and, in some cases, your finances and materials, only to end up being bitterly disappointed when they fail to take the advantage or follow through? Who is at fault here? Let me tell you, it ain't them, boo. You have experienced the result of what happens when you project your perception of another onto them without regarding their boundaries and present growth limitations. When someone is ready for something, it will happen through a natural progression of events, not through the sheer will of an individual's or individuals desire to fulfill their ego-centered needs.
We have countless recorded examples of this throughout humanity's history. People born into a privileged environment who have no desire to continue the expected role play that has been handed down for generations. They are considered the black sheep and rebellious for taking another path far from their ancestors, and this creates a mad rush to project programmed agendas into their consciousness. Next thing you know, you have a miserable soul fulfilling a false narrative instead of following their heart's desire, which will bring them the happiness they seek. This misery is spread like the toxin is in their relationships, causing rifts and bitter life experiences, all because they succumbed to the unrealistic demands of the bitter individuals before them; hence, the cycle continues. When will we leave what is well enough alone? Why do we insist that we know what's best for others when we ourselves are unfulfilled? It's time to change the storyline of what life truly is away from what life is expected to be from our peers. We need to leave each other alone and allow our individuality to bloom, not suppress it. Are you living in your life purpose, or have you sold your dreams for the nightmare of others.
Nightmare? Yes, if you're trying to match or fulfill another's personal failed dream, you're going to be living in a nightmare. Just because your grandfather was a famed musician does not mean that you must learn how to play an instrument and reach his level of notoriety. Take a look at the offspring of the rich and famous and notice the common thread of high-bar, unrealistic expectations placed on them by people and the media. These children didn't ask for the comparison or the brutal judgments they'll be subjected to. And we wonder why many of them end up addicted, in a slew of unfulfilling partnerships, and will eventually deal with painful mental issues. No one sees them as free-will individuals; they're cast in projected images that trap their ability to experience a healthy life environment. Our human worship and unrealistic expectations for perfection have got to stop. No one is superior. I firmly believe that until you don't need to shit, piss, eat, sleep, or drink, like the rest of us, baby, you ain't all that. The playing field is equal and just. You take care of your affairs, and I'll take care of mine. We need to learn to mind our internal realm and leave the external alone. The band Depeche Mode's song, People Are People, comes to mind. Let's start honoring and celebrating our authenticity, because this conforming business is proving to be a massive failure, don't you think?
